# Can we use IRC5P?

Hello,  
Can we use IRC5P pendant in RS? I could show paint robots but the pendant is IRC5. As you know IRC5 and IRC5P pendant are different.

Hi,

The FlexPaint Pendant is not available in RS. When working with a paint system in RS, the regular FlexPendant can be used.

Hi

There are no plans to support the Paint TPU in RS. This is mainly a cost/benefit decision. To add a simulated Paint TPU to RS is a major development effort, and will continue to require maintenance for many years. IRC5P is designed in such a way that there are alternatives to using the TPU for all purposes except a few operations that needs the TPU for safety reasons (e.g. jogging) and a few setup wizards using the robot as a measuring tool. In RS it is possible to jog the robot without the TPU, and the setup wizards are either better supported with existing RS functionality, or will be supported by the Painting PowerPac.  
Of course, it is possible to create RAPID programs that interacts with the user, but this is not commonly used in paint installations, and has limited support on the Paint TPU anyway.

To sum up:

- There are no plans to have the Paint TPU in RS, but instead provide the required functionality through the Painting PowerPac and RS itself.
- I welcome suggestions on “Paint TPU” functionality that should be available through the Painting PowerPac
