# Delete folders from robot controller

How to delete fiiles/folders from Robot controller.
I had upgraded Robot controller from Robot Ware 5.11 to 5.12. Now I would like to delete RobotWare 5.11.
I tried deleting it with the help of File Explorer in FlexPendandt. When I select the file and choose the option delete, I get an error message saying “File not found or Permission error” Also I tried to delete the file from Robot Studio Online but no luck.
Can any one tell me how to delete the folders/files from robot controller.

Hello,
You should be able to delete the old systems from the bootserver. Have you tried that?

Ravi,
The FTP in Robot Studio has not let me delete or copy those files either. When I use other FTP software such as FileZilla or ACE3 FTP, deleting and copying works with no issues.

Should only delete a system by doing an X-start into the boot screen and delete it from there as it can be near impossible to delete all files related to that system through FTP, usually leaves files behind.
They might have changed this in later versions however. Have experienced it first hand, having to fix it afterwards.

Yes…thats true…a system can only be deleted by doing an X-start and selecting the required system to delete at that point.
