# Ethernet Communication Problem \[PickMaster 3\]

Hi,
We have an installation with 6 IRB-340 robots IRC5 (RW 9.01) connected to a PC with PickMaster 3.12 through an 8 ports Phoenix-Contact Ethernet Switch.
When we connect the Ethernet Switch to the rest of the Plant LAN, all the System hangs up. (There are a lot of communication errors between the Robots an the PickMaster).
We think that there’s a lot of traffic in our Plant LAN and it affects the PickMaster System.
Is there any recommended switch that we can use to avoid this problem ?
Is there any advantage using a managed switch instead of the one that we are using ?

Sound strange. Is it a lot of bradcast traffic on the Plant LAN?
Have analyzed the traffic?
