I have installed my frame grabber without any problems in the computer, but when hooking up the camera, I do not see a picture. Do I need to change any settings on the camera?
Please make sure that the camera cable used is the recommended cognex cable as stated below.

The CVM description section for your CVM (beginning in CVM Descriptions on page 45) lists the Cognex camera cable part numbers for the cameras supported by that CVM.
Not all cameras are supported by all vision processors or frame grabbers.
Note You must use Cognex camera cables to connect your camera to the CVM’s breakout box or breakout cable. Using non-Cognex camera cables could damage your vision system, your camera, or both.
Your Cognex software package may not support all the cameras listed in each CVM section. Consult your software’s release notes for the definitive list of supported cameras and configurations for your combination of Cognex hardware and software.
Sony XC-55 camera end of life, replacement: Hitachi KP-F3-S2
Despite prior information earlier this summer, Sony has announced end of life for the XC-55, which we recommend as the standard camera for the Cognex 81xx series boards. The sales through Sony were terminated by Sept 30th. The last order date through Cognex is Oct 31st.
Due to this, we have tested and approved the Hitachi KP-F3-S2. This is a rapid reset, progressive scan camera, which has been developed by Hitachi to exactly match the Sony camera.
Hardware design compared to Sony:
Video cable configuration: identical
Holes for mechanical fixture: identical
Lence flange: identical (C-mount)
Size: the Hitachi is about 5 mm shorter than the Sony
Hardware switches: preset positions from factory are correct, i.e. no need to change positions
Software compatibility for PickMaster has been tested and verified:
The camera runs on the Sony XC-55BB drive routine as there is not a specific Hitach routine needed. The only difference is the machanical design of the shutter.
