I found that to close a window on FP you have to press the window tab at the bottom for a little longer, then a “Close” button appears above the tab. Everything is very small and one more actions is now required than clicking on the classic WindowClose button.
Is that supposed to be an great innovation?
I like the IRC5 FP interface better.
After PZ->MAIN the program editor is not updated, only the line numbers and the PZ are displayed but not the CODE. It is now necessary to close the program editor and open it again to see the code!??
Another annoying thing is that they added more steps when jumping between edit and debug. There are no longer fixed buttons for debug and edit menu anymore, so you have to jump in/out of menus when navigating between them.
May sound like a small thing but it adds up during commisioning.
And how to lock screen for cleaning?
The division of the movement window into two half-sized windows, “Move” and “Visual”, is cumbersome and confusing. I want a full screen Movement-window where I have all the information together, like with IRC5. An output of the current axis position in radians doesn’t seem to be implemented at all!? Where can I switch to radians? The visual representation of the robot is a gimmick, I don’t need it, the robot is standing in front of me
I agree 100% @daniel72.
The new IRC5 FlexPendant is all I want. It has bigger screen and is way faster, but has the old interface.
If you call up the window Move via the main menu, it is “full size” and contains all the information. Only if you call it up from the right menu bar (which is faster) then it is half size. It would be enough if it was full size when called up from the right menu bar and VISUALLY it would no longer need it
The code editor is barely usable, but at least we can create flashy HMIs now. ![]()
In addition to the statements above, after using Omnicore for the first time over the past month, I have PP to Main on several occasions when in fact I needed to PP to Cursor? Buttons should not be too close each other. Pendant is very slow and not being able to have multiple windows of the same subject (i.e. I/O) is unforgiveable. I am currently having issues with continual system failures when loading modules that are fully loaded and running on restart. Warmstart loses program pointer continually. I remember having having multiple issues when the first IRC5 came to the market.
The omnicore FP has been on the market for many years now, still its no way near as good as the latest IRC5 version. The hardware is the same but the software is junk.
Improvements are ongoing, but it will still take some time until it is visible for everyone. @Newman Would you be interested in becoming an early Beta-Tester?
@Katja_B Sure, send me a PM and we can discuss further.
