Hello everyone,

I would like to share some important information regarding the new licensing system in this topic.

If you ordered an Enterprise license, a.k.a. user based license, the code in the email **should not be used**. Instead, please [create a Robotics One account](https://www.usermanagement.abb.com/account/Register?lang=en-US) and Log in with it in RobotStudio. After doing so, you should see the license tied to your company in the menu that shows up, under Available Licenses.

Hit Select and Restart, and you’re good to go.

If you do not see a license there, or an error pops up. Please reach out to your Local ABB for assistance.

The below issue has been resolved.

~~The order confirmation email also incorrectly refers to the 5x5 code as “activation code”. The correct name for it is “ticket”. So whenever you see a ticket being mentioned in the [RobotStudio 2026.2 manual](https://search.abb.com/library/Download.aspx?DocumentID=3HAC032104-001&LanguageCode=en&DocumentPartId=&Action=Launch), it refers to this code.~~

There is a licensing portal available via [https://softwarelicenses.robotics.abb.com/](https://softwarelicenses.robotics.abb.com/)

If you have purchased a RobotStudio license and created a Robotics One (R1) account, you should be able to sign in to this site using your R1 credentials.

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/robotics1/original/2X/6/6ff1b691cf74b30e39f998e3244da8c506a8b139.png)

Here, you should be able to see information about your license and if you have an enterprise (a.k.a. user based) license you can manage the users who are allowed to use this license.

If you have a user with Admin privileges, that user will be able to see and expand the Users section to see the following view:

From this view you can invite/remove members via the buttons in the orange box.

You can request a user to be granted admin privileges via your local ABB contact.

Update 2026-05-11: It is now possible to request for a 2025.5 network license migration via your local ABB contact.

~~There is currently a known issue with valid RobotStudio 2025.5 (and below) activation keys not being accepted by RobotStudio 2026.1.~~

~~The affected users are those with network licenses such as multi-user licenses and partner licenses.~~

Standalone licenses have been migrated and should be accepted by RS2026.1.

Work is ongoing to migrate all remaining licenses to the new licensing system.

Educational licenses are now available for RobotStudio 26.x. They can be requested via [RobotStudio License | ABB](https://www.abb.com/global/en/areas/robotics/products/software/robotstudio-suite/robotstudio-license)

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/robotics1/original/2X/9/919bc053acc23bb3e1cf5d70a2edbe1e7884766a.png)

~~Educational licenses are planned to be supported from RobotStudio version 2026.3~~

~~This means that schools and universities should keep using [RobotStudio 2025.5](https://robotstudiocdn-b9d5faapereue4ef.a03.azurefd.net/install/RobotStudio_2025.5.zip)~~

~~Ordering educational licenses is done via Local ABB as usual.~~

Some users have reported issues with accessing their licenses in RobotStudio 2026.1

It would show that you have access to a license:

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/robotics1/original/2X/2/2bc050bcbeddabf1431446b8d8d49eecbcf35dd9.png)

But when you press Select and Restart you are shown the following error:

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/robotics1/original/2X/f/f7fbaa0423500906ead1603b6e3974c1c1687e53.png)

In the output window, this exception would be visible:
 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/robotics1/optimized/2X/3/3aed0a834421b9417cced8956182597adf8b5b3e_2_690x30.png)

To troubleshoot and resolve this issue (based on RobotStudio version 26.3):

**Solution 1:** Open RobotStudio, then go to Options, and finally to Connection:

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/robotics1/original/2X/f/f236764f62f6f0e8c4e2eab13a5ede03c2ba932b.png)

Change the Licensing Proxy setting from **System Proxy** to **No Proxy**.

Hit Apply, then restart RobotStudio and try accessing your license again.

**Solution 2:** If changing the proxy settings does not resolve the issue, then it could be that you have a network security policy in place that is preventing communication to/from `eu-backend.wibu.cloud` and/or `cm.eu-backend.wibu.cloud`

Please reach out to your IT department and ask for a white-listing of the domain `*.wibu.cloud` in the firewall.

Please note that your license has to have the status `activated` in the [license portal](https://softwarelicenses.robotics.abb.com/) for it to be accessible in RobotStudio.

If you sign in to the [license portal](https://softwarelicenses.robotics.abb.com/) and see that your license has the status `available`, please reach out to your local ABB and ask for it to be `activated`.

When a license is `activated` and ready to use, it will look something like this:
