Stop Auto Layout [PickMaster 5]

Any way to lock the Layout Operations?

Every time I make a minor change to the Layout, the Layout Operations gets all skewed. Not once has the program guessed correctly. So for every little change to the placement of a single item, I have to go to the Layout Operations Editor and remove all the newly skewed items and re-enter them them in the correct place order and label direction.

I understand it’s trying to be helpful, but in my experience, it’s just been a waste of time.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I crashed a robot yesterday, thanks to the auto-changing Format Layout I/O Value in 5.13.

We use the I/O value field to communicate to the PLC: letting it know the quantity of the first row, whether the cases in the row are turned, the quantity of the cases in the second row, whether the cases in the row are turned, whether to use the justifying pusher or not, how many photoeyes are blocked on the infeed before the pick, and last, but not least how many drop detection eyes should be used on the tool.

However, when I made a small change to the Format Offset, the I/O value automatically changed to a “50” because I was picking 5 cases. Not noticing, I transferred, ran the robot, and it picked as if it had two rows and came down on top of the pusher.

Luckily, no damage was done, but this auto-changing “feature” needs to be removed.

Hi,
auto changing of format I/O values has been restricted in the
next release, PM5.21.

Best regards,
