Can robot axis 6 continously rotate?

Is there a way to setup axis 6 to continously rotate during a program? Reference to IRB 4400 and IRB 4600 with IRC5 controller.

Tyler - can you be more specific about the options you have for this. I would like to attach a gripper to grab a part, then rotate it continuously for a set amount of time.
