Our facility has many ABB robots and every now and then one will get a fatal application error.

What can be done to prevent this?
What RobotWare version do you have? Can you provide a list of the options that your controller has installed? Is there a particular activity that causes this error? This is a generic error that can have numerous causes.

Thus far no particular set of circumstances has been identified to cause the problem
The first step I would take would be to upgrade to the latest RobotWare version. As I mentioned, there have been a variety of fixes over time to address this sysmptom. Do you have any custom (3rd party) FlexPendant applications installed? Unhandled exceptions in user applications can also cause errors for Taf.exe.
