Import Geometry not working properly

I worked on a project in september and managed to import a geometry into the station. I can see it’s components and select several curves to create a path with autopath.
Today I wanted to add a new object, but I can’t get it working like the old one.

The new object is always grey, and I can’t seem to find a way how to get the new file to be as “smart” as the old one.
I create my files with NX 10 and tried exporting as stl, wrl and rsgfx. Unfortunately I can’t remember which type I used in september..

I must be missing something obvious but I don’t know what it is.

Cheers,
Toby

Have you tried exporting it as an acis (*.sat) file or as an iges file

.sat-files work fine, but I can’t create them with NX 10. Converting would be a possible alternative if I/we can’t find another solution.
How can I import .iges-files? My RobotStudio 6.01 only lists .sat, .wrl, .stl, .dae, .obj, .3ds and .rsgfx

Thanks for you quick reply

Toby

You’ll need to the IGES option in RS if you want to use that format

Hi Neily,

where can I select that option? My Import Geometry Dropdown menu doesn’t contain an IGES option. I also couldnt find anything useful in RobotStudios options.

Cheers,
Toby

Hi Toby,
All CAD formats except Acis (.sat) require an optional license.

Johannes

Oh I see. Then I’ll go with the conversion… (but I still can’t really understand how I did it a month ago haha)

Probably the 30-day trial period!
