Network File Permissions

RW 5.12.0138

I am using the CopyFile instruction to copy files to a shared windows network drive via the NFS Client option.

The exported files have read and write permissions for user ‘Robot’, but only read permission for group ‘Shared’.

As a result it is not possible for members of group ‘Shared’ to delete or otherwise modify these files from a PC on the network. They may only be deleted from the FlexPendant.

Our network administrator says that the file permissions are determined by the IRC5, not by our network settings. Is there a way to specify different permissions at the IRC5?

Thanks,

Kevin

Correction: the network is running on Linux, but is accessed via Windows. I am told that this should make no difference.

Surely I am not the first person to encounter this problem.

Please would someone from ABB bring this thread to the attention of an ABB communications expert.

Thanks,

Kevin

Its the NFS Server settings that defines the access rights to catalogs and files on the server. The NFS client (IRC5) can’t override any server settings.
