Hi,
I’m currently working with ABB RobotStudio and the 3D Printing PowerPac, and I’m looking for recommendations on the best software tools for slicing and path planning that integrate well with this setup.
If you have experience with any software that works well in context please advice.
Hi Shadi,
It depends a bit on what you are going to print. To print straight up in the Z direction, you can use any type of slicer software that is developed for a regular “desktop printer”. I personally prefer Simplify3D, but have also tried UltiMaker Cura and Prusa Slicer, which both works well.
However, it is important to activate the Distance Filter in 3DP PP to avoid motion errors when printing.
For really large prints and for “free form printing” you need a more advanced (and expensive) slicer software such as AiBuild or AdaOne.
Regards,
Anders
