I’ve noticed in a number of cases that when I’ve edited RAPID code in RBS, the code is not saved when I’ve saved my file. This is rather shocking to me and has lost to several hours of lost work already. Have you experienced this behaviour as well? Is saving my .rsstn file != saving my RAPID code [very frustrating!] ? Thing is that sometimes in the RAPID editor as asterisk [ * ] shows up. In most programming editors a sign that your work is not saved. Hence I’m assuming my RAPID code is saved when this symbol does not appear.
You are not alone with this problem.:grinning:
The problem has been in RS since ver.3.0
I have for the last many years made a backub every half hour to avoid loosing rapid code if RS chraces.
Before exit of RS make a backup off the controllers in your station as i do.
After reopen RS check your last rapid code!!! if you miss it restore your backup off the controller
This is a workaround not a solution:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The rapid code is in the VC and not a part of the station file.
See my tropic about include autobackup off controllers when autosaving station file.
I’m happy to hear that I wasn’t making silly novices errors, though I agree that its very upsetting to hear that this apparently is an ongoing issue. That’s a very rough edge indeed…
Thanks for the pointers wrt autosaving the controllers. Much appreciated,
