Svchost process high cpu utilization

Hello all.

I am experiencing a perplexing fault surrounding the Windows process Svchost.exe. When I am using RS 5.10, my computer experiences pauses and lag when applying changes/scrolling in the code window/typing in code etc. Basically whenever I do something in RS, this Svchost.exe process starts to use almost all of the CPU time (sometimes up to 90%). When I stop using RS it drops back to zero.

The only service that is running under this particular instance of Svchost.exe (there are several) is RpcSs (Rempte Procedure Call System Service). Using a program called process explorer I can see that this service is generating a large number of page faults. I am not sure if this is the cause or what but if anyone knows anything I would appreciate any advice.

I recall that I had a simular problem and then ran the bat file in the utilities directory of the installation (C: empRobotStudio 5.10UtilitiesReg_ComServer_NetScan.cmd)

Hi, and thanks for your reply. I am unable to find that file anywhere on my PC. There is no utilities folder. Any ideas?

Have a look on the RobotStudio CD there should be a utilities folder on there.
