Today we launched the E-Device
The E-Device enables you to use your Windows PC or tablet for teach pendant functionality with the OmniCore® User Interface app.
How it works:
•Add the E-Device to your next robot order. It covers all safety functionality such as emergency stop, enabling button and more.
•Connect the E-Device to the FlexPendant connector on the OmniCore controller.
•Connect your Windows PC or tablet to the E-Device via USB-C (no further cable needed).
•Open the OmniCore UI app — either installed with RobotStudio or downloaded to your tablet.
•Interact with the real robot safely from your own device.
This means you can work from one Windows device and move more easily between RobotStudio, AppStudio and the OmniCore UI app (Flexpendant app).
The FlexPendant remains ABB’s dedicated industrial teach pendant. The E-Device adds a new option for users who want more flexibility and a more connected engineering workflow.
If this is not enough: A tablet or PC brings sensors like cameras inbuild and you can connect it via USB to the E-Device and via WLAN to internet at the same time. This adds a lot more opportunities for custom build webapps: e.g. use the inbuild camera of the tablet to take a picture of the application, link to web content for always up to date manuals…
