Disappearance Ris commands and vision models [PickMaster 3]

Hello,

Somebody knows why can disappear Ris commands and vision models when the robots are in production?.

How is it possible that the vision models disappear if they have been recorded with the projects?.
And the Ris commands?, if the Ris commands are configured through RIS Plug-in on the File menu into the Remote Integration Services Configuration dialog box, How can disappear them?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Maria,

The reason for the RIS settings to disappear is probably because the .dat file in the PickMaster/RIS directory is removed.

Why the vision models are gone is a mystery. I is not even possible to open the position source dialog during production.

Hi Mats,

According to my customer they didn’t touch anything, they didn’t remove anything, when the robot stopped to do pick they turned off the application of PM after this, they started up again PM and they started up the same project and according to them when they went to check what it was happening because the robots didn’t catch any element and the cameras were working, they checked that the models had disappeared and the RIS settings neither were.

I think that if they saved the line in other folder how the project is linked to the line with a ID register of Windows XP, I had thought that it was possible that the models were linked to the project with something similar and the models and projects had different ID and that were the error.

Mats, Have you opened a project of PM with Ultraedit?, Have you analyzed all information that appear in the document?, ABB has information about the meaning of that?.

Many thanks for your help.

It sounds like something was overwritten in the file system.

The models are binary embedded in the project file. There is no registry involved there.

ABB doesn’t provide any information about the file format. It is a readable XML format, but it’s strictly not recommended to edit the file.

I have not had problems with vision models, but I have experienced RIS values disappearing. Since it is not in .xml format, it is not possible for me to make sense of the .dat file. However, after the codes disappear, they are replaced with default values which aren’t really even valid entries - all robots have the same codes.

So far, this has only occurred after a short time period (days) of new project and RIS creation and I have been on-site to re-enter the data. It acts like the data was never really accepted, but this doesn’t make any sense since it works normally for a while.
