Due to issues with the new DSQC377B Encoder Interface boards, a firmware update has been released.

SYMPTOM
Queue tracker unit DSQC377B can at certain circumstances give a tracking deviation of up to 1%. This has been
reported especially from installations where the tracking distance is extremely long.

AFFECTED ROBOTS
All installations with DSQC377B of revision 14 or earlier and where the ?ocounts per meter?_ parameter has been
changed to a final value less than 1% from previous setting.

CAUSE
The DSQC377B unit has a filtering of the ?ocounts per meter?_ value.
If the configuration is changed less than 1%, the value will not be changed for the board.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Upgrade firmware to version 1.5

REVISION UPDATE
DSQC 377B, 3HNE 01586-1 of revision 12, 13 and 14 upgraded with Firmware ver 1.5 will have rev. 15.
1. Change the revision on the label of the board to 15 after upgrade (e.g. 3HNE0156-1/15).
2. Update also the revision of the board in WebConfig. (ABB Employees)

Hi Mats I had some problem updating DSQC377B boards to rev 1.5
I think my problems are caused by 2 tings.

When you speed up the communication the change that the procedure fails is very big
I always leave it on 9600. This takes a while but it always works!

I think you sequence is wrong
You first have to load the new firmware and after this you have to delete it
The sequence should be:
From terminal, enter: “ft putbin”
From terminal, enter: “ft del gcncf.cpi”
and not the other way around

In the error recovery procedure you fist have to delete and after this you have to load.
Your sequence there is ok according my experience!
