Trying to create a new virtual controler it says the mecanical units can’t be automaticaly asignated to the components of the corresponding bookself. The options are to manualy do it by the window of dialoge of configuration.
Don’t click No — that path leads straight to the null exception crash. Always click Yes when prompted about manual assignment, then configure it in the dialog that opens.
This error typically happens when:
The system was created from a backup whose robot model isn’t in your installed RobotStudio bookshelf (library), OR
The RobotWare version in the backup isn’t installed in RobotStudio
Steps to fix:
Click Yes to open the manual assignment dialog.
In the dialog, map each mechanical unit to the correct robot model from your bookshelf. If the robot model is missing, you’ll need to install it via Add-Ins → RobotWare → Manage Libraries.
If you’re building from scratch (not a backup), make sure you select the correct robot model library before creating the virtual controller.
If the bookshelf is empty or the model is genuinely missing, let us know which robot model you’re working with and we can help you find the right library to install.
