Inconsistent inspection results [PickMaster 3]

I am using inspection and I seem to have trouble with getting a consistent inspection result. What is the difference between limit search region and position region?

Please note that if an item is outside the position region, it is not rejected but instead discarded. Thus, it will not cause the overlap filter to cancel out the very same position in the next frame. The position region should be used to ensure that any sub inspection areas are well within the camera view, otherwise one might risk that an inspection results in a rejected result due to that one or more sub inspection areas are outside the camera view.

Some find “Limit position region” and the “Limit search region” to be the same thing, but that is not true. The limit search region “cuts” the picture before it is sent to the vision algorithms. The limit position region verifies (if correctly defined) if a pick point is positioned so that the whole item is completely within the view or not.

In PickMaster it is always the first vision “hit” that counts. If the first hit is found but rejected that will not change even though it is accepted in a later frame.

The “limit position region” ensures that first “hit” has a correct inspection result (accepted or rejected).
