Pickmaster PC questions [PickMaster 3]

I have 2 questions about requirements for Pickmaster PC’s.

  1. Is there anything special about the dual Gig-E interface card, or can a PC be purchased with Gigabit Ethernet ports already installed?

  2. Has anybody successfully used a Vista operating system with Pickmaster? I read that it is supported, but XP is still recommended?

Hi Craig,

  1. The network interface card delivered with PickMaster has been tested to guarantee good performance for GigE communication. It has the IntelPro chipset which together with the “performance driver” ensures reliability and helps to put less stress on the CPU. It is highly recommended to use this card, even though it is technically possible to connect using other cards.

  2. PickMaster works with Vista, but if you have the choice to go with either XP or Vista, it is more convenient to use XP due to less security mechanisms (In Vista you need to make settings such as “Run as administrator”) etc.
