Network Card Slot for GigE camera [PickMaster 3]

Hi, all

According to product spec, the network camera, which belongs to PickMaster package shouhd be installed in PCI-Express 4x or higher (8x,16x..). But in these days it is very hard to find a mother board, which has PCI-Express 4x slots. Nomally it has one PCI-Express 2.0 16x, several PCI-Express 2.0 1x, and PCI slots.

So, is it possible to install in PCI-Express 2.0 1x? I think PCI-Express 1x and PCI-Express 2.0 1x are different.

How do you install for this network card?

I’ve looked around and it seems a motherboard with PCI express 2.0 should work with network cards that use PCI-express 1.1/1.0.

As for the problem of finding a PC with PCI-express x4 you can use the single port version of the Intel network card - “IntelPro 1000PT desktop adapter”. It uses PCI express x1.
