PickMaster Time Synch service [PickMaster 3]

Hello,

I am currently commisioning a PickMaster project with one IRC5 based IRB340. We have had problems getting the robot to start picking. The reason for that was that the PickMaster Time Synchronization Service stopped a few seconds after it was started. If I manually restarted it, it would soon stop again. After a lot of trouble shooting during the weekend we found out that the reason was that the computer is equipped with more than one Ethernet adapter card. I have dedicated one card for the robot link. The other one should be used to connect the PC to the customer’s network. As soon as we disabled the other network card it was working ok. We need to have both cards activated. How can we achieve this?

The Pickmaster version is PM3.10

Regards

Daniel

Daniel,

The PickMaster Time Synchronization Service detects available network cards only at startup of the service. Activation of further cards after startup will be ignored.

In order to enable the PM Time Synchronization Service to identify a network card as a valid network to use during startup the following must be true:

  • There must be a default gateway provided for the network (as well as IP-address and network mask)

  • The connection must be active AND physically connected to a network

Also, there must be NO card that is activated but not connected to a network, i.e. each and every network card must be either disabled altogether or activated and connected.

After startup, a network cable may be removed and then plugged in again without affecting the function on of the PickMaster Time Synchronization (of course assuming the network that is unplugged does not contain any IRC5 controllers).

I hope this explains the function more in detail.
