Hi,
We have a demo robot (IRB340) single vision. I have done some test with this robot on PM3.23. The PM was installed on a windows XP system and I have used the temporaly license of 7 days. Today I have get a new PC working with windows Vista business SP1.
The robot installation and vision is completly the same we change only the PC with Vista and 3 ethernet connection. On this PC we are still using the digital framegrabber.
When I start the project I get always the warning 4318 “Item pos for CNV1 discarded. 4938 seconds older than available scene info”. I have already have such kind of error in the past and it was mostly due to the not used ethernet connection. I have check everything and I could not get the system running. I have also stop and start the Time Synchronization Service but it does not help.
Have anyone some experience with PM and Vista?
BR,
Fabrice
I got a similar problem when there were 2 ethernet board on the PC.
Try to disable one and redo the procedure to start and stop time sync

Hi,
Under the options tab in PickMaster, check the IP-address of “Controller Network adapter”.
This should be the IP address of the network card that connects the PC to the controller.
If the correct address is not selected, try to change. Wait 30s and then press play.
If this does not work, re-install PickMaster, but first make sure that the network card designated for the controller is enabled and has the correct IP address before starting the installation.
During installation you are asked to specify which network card that is used to communicate with the robot controller - select the correct card.
Now it should work.

I have check and test all the points that you specified without succes.
I have solve the problem by installing Windows XP.

DEar all,
Today I have the same warning, 4318. I have already read this topic, but the warning still appear, ad the robot can’t move to pick the items. I already check the IP address, disable the other ethernet card, check the connection, re-install the pickmaster3, define the correct address for controller, and still no effect. I also want to ask, what parameter that can be said my wiring is correct? I mean, is there any sign (eq: flashing LED in output domansync, etc) for correct wiring?
What should I do to this warning?
Thanks
BR,
I assume that all firewalls and things are turned off?
How many robots are involved? LB/ATC?
The most important thing is that the strobe from the camera or the mansync signal is distributed to all encoder boards along the conveyor.
Hi,
I just set up a new PC with Vista Ultimate from scratch. I use PM3.30 with one GigE camera.
It seems to be a few tricky things with the firewall. It complains even after I turned it off.
What I had to do was to manually add ‘C:Program FilesABB Industrial ITRobotics ITPickMasterPMTimeSyncu.exe’ as an approved program to the exception list with the scope of ‘Any Computer’. A restart of the service is required.

Dear all,
I 've solve the problem!! The problem is I connect the cross cable into the service port and not to the LAN port…
So, when I connect it to the LAN port, it’s ok now.

BR,
Hi
I fight one hour with the same problem.
I saw that in the Pickmaster /option/network there was the correct IP address.
While in the regedit LocalMachine/abb/pickmaster/Network adapter there was a wrong one.
It seams that Vista does not allow the application (evenif I have administrator rights) to change it in the regedit.
As soon as I changed it manually, restsrt PMTimeSyncu, than it start to work properly
