Hi,
I am doing a sub inspection on the printout of our product and last time it was necessary to decrease the score value to 50% but when I look at the result I get for this product a score of 83%. Why is it then not possible to get good result by increasing the score value to for example 60% ?
See pictures in attach.2008-06-02_094005_Search__score.zip
Thanks in advance

Hi Fabrice,
PatMax is two step algorithm, which in a first step finds suitable hit candidates (coarse search), and then checks each candidate i detail (fine search). The score threshold you set applies to the first “coarse search”. So if the score is set too high, no candidates are found, and no fine search is performed.
For some objects the fine search improves the score by a lot, like in your case, it finds something at 0.5-0.6, and then refines it to 0.83 in the second step.
To get a higher score in the coarse search, you may for example:
-
Enable angle variation
-
Increase the tolerance of the coarse search by clicking “adjust granualrity” and enter a slightly higher value of the “coarse” property. But be carful with this setting. Automatic normally works for machine made objects.
