Virtual PLC

Is it possible for a virtual controller to communicate to a virtual PLC?

If so how is this normally done

There is an internal prototype that can communicate through OPC and we have other initiatives ongoing, too. Nothing is ‘releaseable’ at the moment though.

Have there been any updates on this since it was posted back in 2013? I would be great to have this functionality, especially for systems involving multiple robots all communicating with each other and other (non-robot) pieces of equipment
