ERROR 4317 - 4318 Old Scene Discard [PickMaster 3]

Hi,

We having a major issus on a production line. For no reason, we are running the line and we have Error 4317 - Scene info from a robot controller discarded. After we have a 4318 - Scene info from the computer is discarded. We also having a time..e.g. the scene is 0.5s older…

The 2 robots does’nt pick any of the product and let them go, event if the camera picture is OK. Pickmaster also discard the place container. We need to stop the PM line and restart the 2 controllers. The product sometimes come back and we need to restart the controllers again. When the line finally restart, the robot some time have the same error for the first postion generate and restart picking after it. The error come back after a couple of minutes and we need to restart again and again.

What can create this “timing” error? What this error means?

Thanks for your help

I have checked many times all the reason on the list, but no one can explain the behavior.

Can the a bad timing can come from an Windows time synchronisation issue? Do you ever had this problem with other system?

BR

Hi Nick,

To get rid of the problem try starting the PickMaster time synchronization service when only the network card which communicates with the robot controller is enabled. Follow these steps:

  1. Go into network connections. Disable all network cards except for the one which communicates with the robot controller (it is not enough to only unplug the cable(s), you have to disable them).

  2. Right click my computer → Manage → Services and Applications → Services

  3. Find PickMaster Time Synchronization Service in the list

  4. Right click and choose stop. Wait for 30 seconds.

  5. Restart the time sync service. Wait for 30 seconds.

  6. Enable the other network connections that you need during production. If you don’t need any, please leave them disabled.

  7. Start PickMaster.

If you must have more than one network card enabled, you may have to redo the procedure when restarting the PC.

Hope this helps,

BR Fredrik
