ATC and Load Balancing PM3.12 [PickMaster 3]

Hello,

We have an installation where two IRB 340 (Multi-Move) are working in line on two conveyors.

The Robots should pack 4 items in a container. It is important that the items are placed strict, due to the layer. The first robot should place item 1 and 2 (layer1) and the second robot should place 3 and 4 (layer2) on top of item 1 and 2.

If we use ATC this is working OK. Sometimes 3 items are placed in the right order.

If we use Load Balancing we have the following problem. Robot 1 places item 1 and 3 and Robot 2 is placing 2 and 4. This is NOT OK, because we have to place layer 1 at first due to the gripper Design.

We tried several methods (changing patterns, switching layers, etc.) and nothing helped.

Do you have any idea to solve that issue.

Stefan

Stefan,

Try to use two different items, Item1 for Layer1 and Item2 for Layer2.
In the distribution, let all Item2 be distributed to the second workarea and Item1 be distributed to an ATC group. That way the first robot should never place more than the first layer and the second robot will guarantee that every item will be placed.

Good luck!
