Light for vision camera [PickMaster 3]

Hi all,

I need all your advice. I have to select a light for the vision camera,

which is cognex CDC-200. I’m just curious whether I can use a

fluorescent light (60Hz) or not. I think this light is blink 60 times a

second (right?) and which may influence camera’s capturing. It is just

my guess… Does anybody explain this relationship between cameras

and light? and please recommend light system thank you…

Hello spaik,

If the camera exposure time is shorter than one cycle of the light (60 Hz = 16ms) then you will get different light intensities in your camera images depending on where in the cycle the camera is triggered. The shorter the exposure time the worse it will be.

It is recommended to use high frequency lights to avoid light interference problems.
