PickMaster PC fails to connect to robot controller [PickMaster 3]

My system is currently in production and it runs great! However, it has occurred twice that the PC cannot connect to the robot controller. The PickMaster project ?odisplays?_ Failed to connect to controller. This only happens if the project has been stopped for a while. I am getting the impression that a certain service has stopped working… I am always able to ping the controller. Therefore, I believe that the crossover cable is good.

The PC only has PickMaster & Robotstudio installed. The windows firewall is OFF and there is no anti-virus. Also, the windows event logger only shows errors related to W32Time which also pop up on my personal laptop. I really need help with this one. I have no idea why this is happening. The only way I can get it going again is to reboot the PC / robot controller. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dino

Hi,

What version of PickMaster are you running? There has been some recent updates in this area so you might want to try switching to PM3.32 if you’re not already using that.

Hi Fredrik,

I am running PickMaster 3.30.0009. I will contact my local ABB rep.

Also, with regards to windows, do I need service pack 3? It presently has service pack 2 installed.

Thanks,

Dino
