Hi All,

I need to set up the PROFINET Salve for ABB robot, Please someone provide me some instructions, ideas or step by step manual for it. Thank you very much.

Setting up a Profinet slave, while straightforward, is a long process and can’t be all copied here in the forum.

First check which Profinet Slave option you have, there are a number:
Option 888-1 Profinet I/O m/s HW – hardware option for a DSQC 678 in the PCI slot
Option 888-2 Profinet I/O m/s SW – software option for Profinet Master or Slave over the LAN or with other Hardware Option Ethernet Board
Option 888-3 Profinet I/O Slave – software option for Profinet Slave over the LAN or Ethernt Board hw option
Option 840-3 Profinet I/O – Profinet Fieldbus Adapter in the USB slot

From this, setting up is described in the manuals from the Documentation DVD under Application Manuals → Fieldbus Options.

Hi Steve, I have OPTION 881-1 PROFINET I/O m/s
I set up my IO signals and can use them in my rapid code.

Now I am trying to connect the PLC to the PCI Ethernet slots. To get the communication setup with the PLC do I need to set up or configure IP address somewhere? or I can just plug in the PLC to the etehrnet port in the PCI board.
