Hi all,
I need your help, currently we are using 2 congex camera with pickmaster 3.13.
Suddenly we having an error “failed to get image” from one of the camera. We have been calibrating the camera from time to time. After few minutes of running and will get the error failed to get image from the camera, then after that camera status will become not calibrated.
Kindly advise me on this issue, what causes the error and how should I solve this error?
Thanks & Regards,
D.T
Hi D.T,
“Failed to acquire image” indicates that there is a problem with the communication between PickMaster and the camera.
Do you only get a single message or do you get several? From one camera or from all cameras at the same time?
Do you have a “CDC digital repeater” to extend the camera cable?
It sounds strange that the camera status goes to “not calibrated” after you get “Failed to acquire image”, because even unplugging the camera does not affect the data in the camera status dialog.
Anyway, to try to solve the root problem (“Failed to acquire image”) I suggest you update your frame grabber driver with the following patch, Instructions are included. http://forums.robotstudio.com/webwiz/FredrikK/2008-04-11_111255_MVS-8100D_Driver_CR1.zip
I’m not sure if this solves the problem but it may help.

Hi Fredrik,
we having one error message from camera one only and we do not have a CDC digital repeater. If we not using CDC digital repeater to extend the camera cable what error will appear?
Do you have the CDC digital repeater manual? I want to know more about CDC digital repeater.
I will update the frame grabber driver that you sent me first.
Thanks & Regards,
Desmond
Hi Fredrik,
I had already update the driver. But we still having the same problem having failed to get image. It happened immediate on both cameras. Now we trying to find another frame grabber card to test on it. Is it because we not using CDC digital repeater to extend the camera cable?
Please advise me on this issue, thank you so much

Desmond
Hi Desmond,
You should not use the CDC repeater unless you need more than 12m cable (standard). As always it is best to minimize the number of components.
It could be a good thing to check that the camera cable does not run alongside a high voltage/high frequency cable. To minimize the risk of electrical disturbance.
